After keeping mum about his divorce from Katie Holmes for almost a year, it was a shock when a German TV network attributed quotes to Tom Cruise about the subject this month.
The 50-year-old actor was promoting "Oblivion" in Europe when he gave an interview to TV network ProSieben in which he talked about his age and the film.
Though he did tell the network, "It's great to be 50" and spoke
about a motorcycle gift from the movie's director, Joseph Kosinski, a
couple of other quotes were also circulated.
Allegedly sharing that the divorce caught him off-guard, ProSieben claims the "Mission Impossible" star said, "I did not expect that. Life is tragicomic, you need a certain sense of humor."
However, according to Tom's rep, those quotes were completely false and that he never discussed his personal life in the interview.
